The animals are transported from locations outside of our facilities, adhering to the established timeframes and under the agreed conditions. Transportation must take place in full compliance with the requirements set out in Regulation (EC) No 1/2005, and Olot Meats must log all supervised unloadings (the vehicle’s condition, space allowances, cleanliness, etc.). Drivers, as well as all attendants working in the pens, must hold a certificate of competence stating that they have received training in handling live animals. Olot Meats performs its own in-house inspections regarding animal welfare, accredited by duly authorised certification bodies.
