One of the most significant initiatives was the €300,000 investment in the construction of a new 125-space car park in the Pla de Baix Industrial Estate in Olot. Now fully operational, this infrastructure addresses a long-standing local need by improving mobility, easing parking availability, and enhancing safety for both employees and visitors.
The car park has been designed as a shared facility to maximise its use throughout the week. On weekdays, it primarily serves employees working in the industrial estate, helping to improve daily commuting and reduce traffic congestion. During weekends and public holidays, the parking spaces are made available to families and users of the nearby Camp del Morrot sports facilities, making it easier to access sporting and community activities.
This project is the result of a partnership between Noel Alimentaria, the Olot City Council, and Olot Meats, demonstrating the value of collaboration between the public and private sectors in delivering initiatives that benefit the wider community. Beyond addressing parking needs, the project improves quality of life for employees, enhances the functionality of the industrial area, and provides an additional service for local residents.
Through this initiative, Olot Meats reaffirms its commitment to investing in projects that extend beyond its business activity, creating long-term value for the region and contributing to the sustainable development of the city of Olot and its surrounding area.
At the same time, Olot Meats continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and the energy transition through the progressive installation of solar photovoltaic panels across its facilities. This investment forms part of the company’s strategy to reduce its environmental footprint and move towards a more efficient, responsible, and sustainable production model.
The renewable energy generated by these installations supplies a significant share of the plant’s electricity demand during peak production hours, reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and lowering the CO₂ emissions associated with industrial operations. In addition, on-site renewable energy generation improves production efficiency, strengthens the company’s competitiveness, and provides greater resilience against fluctuations in energy prices.
With this initiative, Olot Meats reinforces its commitment to investing in clean technologies that create value for both the business and the wider community, consolidating a sustainable growth model based on innovation, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
